What Causes Elbow Pain?

Elbow injuries, for the most part, are due to injuries involving overuse of the elbow joint. These are most often sports-related or as a result of professions or physical activities that utilize repetitive wrist, hand, and arm movements though sometimes elbow joint pain can be cause by arthritis. However, the elbow joint is much more prone to wear and tear injuries than any other joint in the human body.

The following is a list of different elbow related maladies:

Golfer's Elbow: Known as medial epicondylitis, the pain and inflammation resides on the inside of the elbow and can eventually radiate through the forearm and wrist.

Osteoarhtritis: A degenerative joint disease, this is considered by physicians as the most common form or arthritis. Osteoarthritis becomes gradually worse and worse over time with no cure. However, there are treatments available that help relieve the pain of the condition which can help keep the patient active.

Tendinitis: An inflammation of the tendon, it occurs in the connective tissues that bond muscles to the bone. When the tendon is overused or strained then extreme pain is caused, which occurs in the elbows, wrists, heels and shoulders.
